Widows' Daily Meals Providing Nourishment and Care Through the Rising Heat of Spring

As the warm weather begins to settle in Vrindavan, our hearts are filled with both joy and anxiety as we continue to serve 150-200 widows daily with nutritious meals at Radha Kunda. The widows smile with gratitude as they line up each day to receive hot dhalma, chapattis, and fresh vegetables, meals that provide nourishment and a sense of dignity, and care.

As the temperature rises and we look ahead to the heat of May-June, the need for refreshments and relief from the heat increases. These women rely on our meals not just for sustenance as a vital part of their daily care and comfort. Our process is simple yet effective. Each widow receives a personal ID card, guaranteeing that she will receive a meal every single day. In cases where a widow is unwell, we ensure that her sister widow from the community, brings her meals and checks up on her well-being, showing our deep commitment to supporting each woman in the community.

While we are committed to providing the best care possible, the challenge of supporting more widows during the warmer months is always a concern. We are actively working to expand our meal program to accommodate more women as their needs grow. Our team of dedicated cooks are enthusiastic about taking on this challenge, ensuring every woman receives the nourishment and compassion she deserves.

Ensuring that all widows in Radha Kunda receive their daily meal is our top priority. We know each of these women by name and are dedicated to ensuring that they are taken care of in every way possible. As we continue to expand, your support is crucial in ensuring that we can meet the increasing demand and continue to care for these women with love, respect, and urgency.

Widows Feasts A Joyful Celebration of Community and Gratitude

Dr. Yasasavini Our Trusted Medical Volunteer Providing Essential Care

We are so grateful to have Dr. Yasasavini volunteer with us several times a year, offering medical care to the widowed women of Radha Kunda. With the aging process, many of the widows suffer from conditions like arthritis, joint pain, and other age-related ailments. Dr. Yasasavini has become a trusted figure in their lives, providing compassionate and expert care. Her attention to detail and dedication ensure that the women remain as healthy and strong as possible, despite the physical challenges they face.

The Brajavasi women trust her deeply, and many women from the community visit her for medical support. This ongoing relationship has become a vital part of their well-being, and we are so blessed to offer this clinic to them as part of their care. Having a trusted medical professional like Dr. Yasasavini available to the women ensures their health and dignity are prioritized. It’s a crucial service that helps keep the women active and engaged in their daily seva.

Brajavasi Efforts Keeping Govardhan Sacred and Clean

The hard work and unwavering commitment of our Brajavasi community are essential in keeping Govardhan a place of beauty and sanctity for all who live and visit here. Despite the growing number of pilgrims and tourists each year, our dedicated Brajavasi men continue to take on the responsibility of trash removal, gardening, land restoration, and the maintenance of sacred temples and spaces around Govardhan Hill. Their tireless efforts are a cherished testament to their deep love for this sacred land.

The ongoing dedication to cleaning and restoring Govardhan ensures that it remains a beautiful and holy place for pilgrims to come and worship. With their hard work, sacred sites like Kusum Sarovar and Brahma Kunda continue to thrive and remain pristine. We are so grateful for the Brajavasis’ commitment to maintaining the natural beauty and holiness of Govardhan, as they work together to preserve it for generations to come.

As we reflect on the incredible progress and dedication of our RadhaSeva community, we are filled with gratitude for each and every one of you who make this work possible. From the widows who dedicate themselves to cooking and serving, to the Brajavasis who tirelessly care for the sacred spaces around Radha Kunda and Govardhan, the impact of your support is felt every day.

Your commitment and generosity enable us to continue empowering the most vulnerable women and preserving the sacred beauty of Vrindavan. We are truly blessed to have you as part of our journey.

Together, we are creating a lasting difference—one filled with compassion, dignity, and devotion. Thank you for being a part of our family and for helping us make these life-changing efforts possible.

With deep appreciation, RadhaSeva Team
