Widows Maintaining Daily Meals in January’s Weather

As the afternoon sunshine warms the cool winter air, the widows of Radha Kunda come together in loving friendship, grateful for the warmth as they line up to receive their daily meals cooked with so much affection by the women in our RadhaSeva community. Despite the chilly temperatures, these widowed women remain devoted and dedicated to their seva, taking pride in preparing hot dhalma and fresh chapattis each day. These simple, nourishing prasadam meals reflect the love and care the women share with one another in the RadhaSeva community.

Beautiful and Vibrant Widow Feasts

In January, the widows celebrated together with vibrant feasts full of love and devotion. The festive decorations, which the widows lovingly arranged together, added a special touch to the meal. Every aspect of the feast— from the cooking to the service—is touched by the hands of the widowed women themselves, which is one of the most beloved aspects of these special feast celebrations. These meals are a symbol of empowerment and community, where widows serve widows with love and kindness in a safe and vibrant atmosphere along the banks of Radha Kunda. It’s a moment of connection, joy, and celebration for these incredible women.

Widows Cleaning Lovingly Around Radha Kunda

Each morning, even in the cold and foggy winter, the widows of Radha Kunda brave the cold, bundled up in the warm clothing they've received from our loving community, to continue their sacred seva. Cleaning around Radha Kunda and its surrounding temples is an act of devotion that these women take great pride in and continue with deep, heartfelt commitment. Despite the challenges of the cold weather, their dedication to keeping these holy sites clean is unwavering. It’s a true testament to their love and commitment to Lord Krishna and the sacred land they serve, acting as a beacon of inspiration for all who witness them and their quiet devotion in Radha Kunda.

Our Brajavasi Community Cleaning Around Govardhan

While the cold weather can make it difficult, the Brajavasi men and women of RadhaSeva work diligently to ensure Govardhan remains pristine. The issue of trash continues to be a challenge, but our community works tirelessly every day to keep Govardhan beautiful and well-maintained, particularly along the parikrama paths and at the sacred sites where pilgrims come to worship. Their resilience and dedication to preserving the beauty of the land are inspiring, ensuring that this sacred space remains a place of reverence for all who visit.

Gardening Efforts in Govardhan

Though the cold limits gardening during the winter months, our dedicated team works to keep the landscapes clean and well-groomed. The winter months are a time to prepare for the coming warmth as we begin preparing new garden plots for the upcoming season. As always, the team ensures that the sacred gardens of Govardhan remain beautiful and well-maintained, providing a peaceful and welcoming environment for pilgrims and locals alike. Even in the coldest times, the love and care for these spaces never waver.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our continued supporters for being an essential part of our RadhaSeva family. Their unwavering support has made a tangible difference in the lives of the widows of Radha Kunda and the dedicated Brajavasis working alongside them.
