Monthly Blessings -August Seva Updates from the Heart of Vrindavan

August in Vrindavan brings the monsoon rains, lush growth, and a vibrant rhythm to life here. Amidst the showers and the cool relief from the summer heat, our seva continues—steadily, devoted, hearts full of love and celebration.

This Month in Vrindavan August in Vrindavan has flourished with monsoon life. Despite heavy rains and flooding, the widows in Radha Kunda village continue their sacred rhythm of prasadam meal distribution and essential seva, accompanied by the joyful energy of Janmastami and Radhastami celebrations!

The vibrant atmosphere has been filled with joyful chanting and ever-increasing devotion.

Widows’ Daily Meals

August brought the monsoon rains, and with them, an increased need for nourishment and care for the widowed women of Radha Kunda. Despite slippery paths and often heavy rains, our devoted team of widows prepared and distributed hot meals to 150–200 women every day. Each meal includes freshly hand-rolled chappatis, hearty dhal with local vegetables, and carefully measured spices crafted to sustain, energize, and comfort these resilient women.

As they wait for their prasadam, the widows chant, sing, and offer prayers with joy, filling the air with devotional energy and celebration. Our ladies who serve the meals maintain composure and attentiveness, ensuring that each woman receives her meal quickly and fully, so no one goes without. It is a steady, essential seva, yet one that is always infused with love, devotion, and joy.

With your continued support, we hope to expand this vital service to welcome up to 300 widows into the daily meal program. Each sponsorship ensures that a widow receives nourishing meals, a moment of community, and a reminder that she is cherished. Your help can sustain this heartwarming seva and allow us to care for every woman who depends on it.

Widows Celebratory Feasts August was a month full of celebration, and our widows' feasts became a vibrant highlight for the community. These feasts are held regularly to honor special occasions, milestones, and moments of devotion, and during this festive season, the widows prepared and shared meals with unmatched care and joy. From fragrant subjis to crisp pakoras and sweet treats, every dish is lovingly crafted by the widows themselves, reflecting flavors and traditions from their own villages.

As the women gather for the feast, the atmosphere is always filled with laughter, conversation, and the warm sense of community that these celebrations foster. Young widows bring their children, and together, they experience joy and unity that brightens even the most challenging days. For the widows, these feasts are a moment to connect, celebrate, and share devotion with their sisters in Radha Kunda.

Your support makes these feasts possible, providing the women with a space for spiritual and social rejuvenation. Each feast is a tangible expression of care, love, and community—and a reminder that the widows of Radha Kunda are never alone in their devotion or in their lives. Thank you to everyone who sponsored a widow's feast throughout this festive season! Your generous gifts have been so appreciated! A special thank you to Achyuta Gopi dd and the Chal Man Vrindavan team for visiting us and offering a celebratory feast with these lovely ladies.

Celebrating Janmastami and Radhastami with the Widows of Radha Kunda August saw some of the most sacred and heartfelt celebrations of the year. Sri Krishna Janmastami and Radhastami were observed with deep devotion and elaborate kirtans, abhisheks, and pujas at Radha Kunda and Madan Mohan Mandir. The widows took part in the preparations and ceremonies, offering flowers, lamps, and their own seva to the deities. These celebrations not only deepen the spiritual connection of the women but also provide them with moments of joy and unity as a community.

Widows Kirtan Daily kirtans continued in August, as our widows sang the holy names with full devotion, creating an atmosphere of spiritual joy and connection. Kirtans allow the women to strengthen their spiritual practice while offering inspiration and devotion to those visiting Radha Kunda and Radha Madan Mohan Mandir.

Radha Kunda Care The monsoons and exciting celebrations add beauty and life to Radha Kunda, but also bring challenges, with leaves, debris, and rain-soaked maha offerings accumulating around the ghats and temples honoring the festive season. Every morning and evening, the widows rise early to sweep, wash, and restore the sacred areas to pristine condition. Their devotion shines through even in the wet weather, demonstrating how deeply they honor Sri Radha and Krishna, as well as supporting the devotees and their offerings. Each task, whether clearing maha flowers or scrubbing steps, is performed with mindfulness and love, ensuring that pilgrims and devotees can experience the sacred waters in all their glory.

Brajavasi Seva All Around Govardhan This season offers vibrant life to Govardhan, and our dedicated Brajavasis worked tirelessly to maintain the sacred areas, including trimming and gardening at Kusum Sarovar, Karshi Kunda, Uddhava Kunda, and the forests around Govardhan. Trash removal is an ongoing effort to ensure that sacred kunds, temples, and parikrama paths remain safe, clean, and beautiful. Their work preserves both the physical beauty and spiritual sanctity of these cherished spaces.

Month after month, your support brings light into the lives of those who have often been forgotten. You help ensure that the widows of Radha Kunda are not only fed and clothed, but also honored. That the land of Vrindavan is not only walked upon, but cherished. Thank you, RadhaSeva Team.
