Monthly Blessings - February Seva Updates from the Heart of Vrindavan

February in Vrindavan carries a gentle transition. The deep chill of winter begins to soften, the sun lingers a little longer, and the air slowly warms. With this shift comes renewed energy, both in the land and in the hearts of those who serve it.

It is a time of quiet awakening, where seva continues steadily, now touched with a sense of lightness and movement as the season begins to change.

This Month in Vrindavan As the cold begins to lift, life in Radha Kunda and Govardhan becomes more active once again. The widows and Brajavasis continue their daily rhythm with devotion, cooking, cleaning, restoring, and caring for their sacred home.

The mornings are still cool, but the warmth of the afternoon sun brings comfort and ease. With this seasonal shift, the community gathers more freely, sharing time, service, and moments of connection.

February has been a month of renewal, where steady care continues, and joy quietly returns to daily life.

Widows Daily Meals: Nourishment With Renewed Energy

As the weather begins to warm, the daily meal program continues to serve as a steady foundation for the widowed community. Each day, over 150 women receive freshly prepared prasadam of hot chapattis, nourishing dhal, rice, local vegetables, and sweet treats made with care.

With more comfortable conditions, the women gather with a renewed sense of energy, chanting, speaking with one another, and enjoying the simple joy of community. The seva remains steady, but the atmosphere grows lighter, filled with warmth both from the food and from one another.

Widows Seva: Caring for Radha Kunda in Changing Seasons With the fog beginning to clear and the sun returning, the widows continue their daily cleaning seva around Radha Kunda and Shyama Kunda with dedication and grace.

Sweeping the ghats, tending to temple areas, and maintaining the sacred surroundings, their work ensures that Radha Kunda remains peaceful and beautiful for all who come. As the season shifts, their service is strained by the influx of renewed pilgrims and tourists, resulting in more trash and refuse left behind in Radha Kunda each day. The widows' patience and gentleness despite the additional labor reflect a quiet joy and a steady, consistent, and deeply devotional attitude these women carry.

Widows Feast: A Joyful Gathering of Love and Community This month, we were grateful to host a beautiful widows' feast with our lovely community, an especially cherished event for all of the widowed ladies.

The women came together to cook, serve, and share a festive meal, filled with traditional preparations, warm flavors, and heartfelt offerings. Laughter, conversation, and joy filled the space as they served one another with affection and care.

For many, these feasts are a highlight, an opportunity to celebrate, to connect, and to experience the beauty of community in a deeper way. It is a reminder that beyond daily care, there is also space for joy, celebration, and shared devotion.

Brajavasi Seva: Continued Care for Govardhan Our Brajavasi team remains actively engaged in maintaining Govardhan’s sacred spaces. With improved weather conditions, their work in trash removal, land restoration, and garden care continues with renewed strength. After months of cold weather, our community was able to tackle larger areas where trash piles had collected and restore these sacred spaces. This effort to keep Govardhan clean is often challenging and requires constant diligence, but our community continues to keep Govardhan beautiful despite all obstacles.

Paths are cleared, landscapes are maintained, and sacred areas are preserved—ensuring that Govardhan remains clean, accessible, and spiritually uplifting for the community and visiting pilgrims alike.

Month after month, your support brings light into the lives of those who have often been forgotten. You help ensure that the widows of Radha Kunda are not only fed and clothed, but also honored. That the land of Vrindavan is not only walked upon, but cherished. Thank you, RadhaSeva Team.
