Meet Rohini, a widow of Radha Kunda in Vrindavan.
During this most festive and auspicious time, receive unending prosperity and good fortune by extending a gesture of divine giving to Rohini and widowed mothers like her, who maintain Sri Radha Kunda and Shyama Kunda every day - while caring for the women in their widowed community.
Women like Rohini were once shunned by society and left to navigate their grief alone. Today, however, these women embody strength and grace. Rohini was married without the opportunity for an education. After the sudden and unexpected death of her beloved husband, she was left without support from her community.
Instead, like many widowed women of India, she traveled thousands of miles alone to reach Vrindavan with the hope of dignity, sanctuary, and support, where she has found a loving community, meaningful engagements, and personal empowerment by caring for other widowed women in need.
Rohini is a wonderful example of how a widow woman's life can be completely transformed for the better when given the opportunity.
