Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's Sitting Place
april 04------2013 036-3.jpg
There is a platform beside a tall tamal tree on the bank of Śyāma-kuṇḍa where Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu sits eternally.
As Rādhā-kuṇḍa and Śyāma-kuṇḍa exist eternally and are expressions of supreme love between Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, so too is Lord Caitanya’s contemplation of these two kundas and the activities there. Rādhā-kuṇḍa and Śyāma-kuṇḍa were lost to the world for thousands of years until Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu came to Vṛndāvana. The name, form, qualities and pastimes of these kuṇḍa’s have been revealed by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and shared by Rupa and Sanātana Gosvāmi.
As Rādhā-kuṇḍa is dear to Kṛṣṇa and Śyāma-kuṇḍa is dear to Rādhā, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, who is non-different from the combined form of Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa, sat to meditate upon the eternal loving exchanges that occur at this most sacred place.
